If you've been following along on the blog, you'll know that during my month of Isolation Creations, I was in the studio making something new pretty much every day. It was such a great and cathartic experience - creating really helped me get through some of the toughness of the COVID shutdown. Sadly, I wasn't able to keep up the daily practice because life trickled in and some other pieces of my world needed my attention. But I learned, through that Isolation Creation project, that making the still life pieces is like my version of meditation. I get so much out of the process - it's slow and I have to be very present for it to work out. Even when it doesn't work out, actually, I still get a whole lot out of the process. So I have been trying to make an effort to fit this type of shoot into my life, at least every now and then, because it feeds my soul.
What feeds your soul? Do you have an activity in your life that you turn to for comfort and to fill you up when you feel depleted?
*Limited edition prints of my still life works are available upon request; inquire below if you'd like to hang one of these beauties in your home ;)
