I recently celebrated a birthday - something I generally like to do quietly, and always with flowers :)
One of our local Canmore flower shops, Willow Flower Co, had the most amazing tulips in stock and I am just so glad I treated myself to them. They've provided me with so much beauty throughout each stage of their existence in my home. I recently read a beautiful book by Amy Merrick, called On Flowers (more on that in another post) and one of my favourite quotes in it was this:
I can attest to that. These beauties made me feel tipsy for more than a week! Here they are in their full glory...
(A couple of these have just been added to my newly updated Poster Shop! Check them out there, along with loads of my other still life work, ready for your walls. Use the coupon code tuliplover for 10% off tulip poster orders before Jan. 31st!)
They sat right next to where I work at home, and they kept distracting me from the doldrums of admin work, so of course I had to photograph them on film a couple of days later...
...and this morning they look like this, because I wasn't quite ready to say goodbye yet :) The one on the left reminds me of one of Katie Rodgers' Shadow Dancers - so magical!
